Do you use Tips or Forms?

We offer both, but typically prefer Forms! If a nail requires intensive inlays, it will likely get Tips. If you have a specific need, do be sure to request it in advance. 💅

Do You Ever Get Tired of Clients Sharing Their Gossip?

No. Never. We’re here for the tea.

How Does Art Work, and What is Considered Art?

The age-old question—what defines art? While we can debate the more grand perspective of this question, at Sunday there’s a very simple answer:

Anything that is not a solid colour is considered Art.

Ombre is Art. French Tips are Art. Our prices are based on the time and skill it will take us to complete your service, and Art takes more time than a solid colour. 🎨

If you’ve booked in for a set with art, it includes the cost of any art (within reason). If you want intricate, original artworks on each of your ten nails, please message us in advance so we can price your service accordingly and ensure we have enough time to complete your request!

What’s With All of The Plants? 🌿

Funny story! My grandma died. Then my partner’s grandma died. They each left us their houseplants which we’ve continued to nurture and propagate over the past few years. By caring for their plants, our grandmothers are still with us in a way.

We get the pleasure of watching our grandmothers grow new leaves and vines every year.

I like to think they’re watching us grow our own too.

(Fun Fact: all of the Monsteras in our salon came from the same plant! It’s over five years old now!)

Will We Fit Over Another Nail Technician’s Work?

Yes, however an additional charge of $15 will be added to your service. When we fit over another technician’s work, we can’t always guarantee the underlying quality and performance.

We will still advise and recommend full replacements if needed. 👍

Do We Offer Acrylic Nails, Gel Nails, Gel-X, and Custom Premade Nails?

Yes we do! And in the future when they invent the next type of nails, we’ll offer those too. We’re ahead of the trends and like to show the absolute best of nail technologies.

How Do Fills Work?

If you have more than five nails missing by the time of your Fill appointment, it will count as a full set. While we understand that accidents can happen, nails are jewels, not tools, and we stand by our quality.

How Long Should I Wait Before A Fill?

We recommend between two to four weeks depending on your retention and preference. Use your judgement or send us a message!

What’s With The Salon’s Stairs? And Shape?

The building was built in 1890 and has lived hundreds of lives, including as a photography studio, military surplus, and a restaurant. We can’t help but feel like our little loft is an amalgamation of several rooms and studios, given the shape and windows. We love it though, and wouldn’t have it any other way! No it isn’t haunted. Don’t even put that thought in our minds.

Do We Take Walk-Ins?

Yes we do, but we always recommend booking in advance. If our sandwich-board sign is out, we’re open and will do our best to seat you with one of our technicians as soon as possible! Come on up!
